Club Pickup - Shaun Breen

Shaun came in for a tee to wedge fitting at Cool Clubs Sydney searching for more consistency throughout the bag but most importantly to find a 3 wood that works after years of struggling with fairway woods and playing longer hybrids instead. Throughout the fitting we found gains with all aspects of Shaun's bag including some amazing results with a 4 wood.

Driver

We found Shaun 12 metres more carry with his new set up of the Callaway Epic Flash fitted with the Tour AD IZ 5 golf shaft.

This combination helped Shaun to create more launch more consistently as well as straightening out his fade to a much straighter, longer ball flight.

Fairway

This was an incredible result with Shaun not previously having played a fairway wood but wanting to.

We fitted Shaun into a Titleist TS2 16.5* 4 wood with the Accra Fx 2.0 160 golf shaft, this combination helped Shaun to create a consistent ball flight and maximise use of his club speed creating a 1.49 smash factor average with this club.

Hybrid

Shaun was carrying 2 long hybrids to cover for the fairway wood that was missing from the bag.

Now that we had sorted the fairway wood we looked to blend these 2 hybrids into 1 club to cover the distance between the 4 wood and his longest iron.

We fitted Shaun for the Titleist 818 H1 Hybrid 19* with the Mitsubishi Rayon CC Black 80G30, with a small tinker from the standard setting we got this Hybrid flying straighter and higher that both of his hybrids and landing it right on the number he wanted to see fall in behind the 4 wood.

Irons

With striving to achieve a higher more consistent ball flight being the trend throughout the bag it took a few combinations to get the irons right but when we finally did there was nothing else remotely close to this combination.

For the Irons we fitted Shaun for the Titleist T-MB with KBS Tour 90 golf shafts from 5 iron to Attack Wedge. This set up found Shaun not only more launch but also more carry to help him stop the ball more effectively.

Wedges

We matched the same KBS Tour 90 from the irons golf shafts into the wedges with the Callaway Mack Daddy 4 heads both 54 and 60 degree in the C grind as the heads provided the most consistent spin and ball speed desired while the sole design of the C grind helped Shaun to play shots more consistently around the green.

A big thanks to Shaun for coming in and getting fitted for the best possible gear for him.
